Our volunteer hours are generally Monday - Friday; 9:30am - 2pm, and Saturday 9:30am - 1pm, but occasionally different arrangements can be made.

*Volunteers under the age of 16 - You must have a parent or legal guardian with you when you volunteer.

In order to begin actively volunteering, you must fill out a Volunteer Application. This is a simple form and takes just a few minutes to complete.

If you are working on a school project with a deadline, please call us a few weeks in advance so that we have adequate time to prepare for you.

Below is a list of volunteer opportunities currently available at GHS.
If you are interested, please e-mail customerservice@ghspets.org or fill out a Volunteer Application.
You can then fax the application to us at 789-1795, or drop it by in person. Our Volunteer Coordinator will call you in a few days, and arrange your volunteer time.

If there is something you would like to do, and you do not see it on the list, please let us know, and we will try to work with you.

1. Organize and participate in a FOOD AND USEFUL ITEMS DRIVE at local grocery stores

We provide a list of all of the items we need as well as everything you need to do the drive. This is tremendous fun. You get a chance to meet a lot of people and collect donations for a worthy cause.

4. Organize and tabulate Alaskan and Proud receipts

5. Puppy foster care
We currently have no need for foster care of any puppies, but check back frequently. Our needs change rapidly.

6. Kitten foster care
We currently have no need for foster care of any kittens, but check back frequently. Our needs change rapidly.
